MUNRO, Alice Jane Elizabeth (née Ross) January 2, 1919 - April 6, 2015 Alice passed away peacefully, her beloved sons Ross and Rod (Alison Brown) at her side, leaving us to remember the intelligence, pragmatism, grace, modesty and humour we knew so well. Predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Roderick Lorraine Munro (1913-2001) whom she met on the ski slopes of St. Saveur and daughter, Penny Rybka (1948 - 2008). Survived by her beloved grandchildren, Marek (Laura), Jan (Natalie), Elizabeth (Dan) and Alexander; great-grandchildren, Zofia and Kasimir and son-in-law, Witek Rybka. Alice and Rod moved to Victoria, BC after raising their family in Woodlands, Quebec. She was the first female president of a Quebec school board, loved to drive fast cars, masterfully played bridge and golf and always enjoyed and marvelled at nature, carrying a fossil hammer in the trunk of her car just in case! A Memorial Service will be held in the Interfaith Chapel at the University of Victoria, Parking Lot 6 on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception at Uplands Golf Club, 3300 Cadboro Bay Road. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com
