Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Alabama City, for Mrs. Alice Green Jackson, 92, Gadsden, who died Sept. 28, 2011. The Rev. John M. Woods will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Hill Cemetery. Watson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.Mrs. Alice Jackson was born to Doc and Lou Ella Green on March 16, 1919, in Marion. She confessed Christ at the age of 10 and joined Morning Star Baptist Church, Marion.In 1937, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Archie Jackson. To this union, 11 children were born. Two sons, Issac and Attorney Victor Jackson, preceded her in death.Mrs. Jackson departed this life on the morning of Sept. 28, 2011. She leaves to cherish happy memories, nine children, Mrs. Dorothy Maul (Mitchell), Mrs. Shirley Henry (John Samuel), Mrs. Brenda Clayton (Clay), all of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Clara Elmore, Norwalk, Conn., Ms. Juanita Jackson, Mr. Matthew Jackson, Mr. William Jackson, all of Gadsden, Ezell Jackson (Mary), Ohatchee, and Tracy Jackson, Ocala, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Visitation will be held this afternoon.
