Obituary of Alice-E. Labelle


Alice E. (Andrew) LaBelle, 86, of Rockland, formerly a longtime resident of Brant Rock, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. The daughter of the late James and Catherine Andrew, she was born in Holbrook, April 1, 1927. Alice retired as an administrative assistant at the former Woolworth Department Stores. Alice had a love for life, family, animals, and the majestic beauty of the ocean. She enjoyed the simple things of sharing time with friends, singing, poetry, and attending religious services. Wife of the late Robert J. LaBelle, she was the mother of Robert of Rockland, Lawrence of Fla., Edward of Hanover, Barbara Allen of Fla., and the late Roy LaBelle; sister of Ruth Hunt of Hanover; and survived by grandchildren, Matthew, Shennon, Bryan, Leanne, Kelly, Leslie, Wendy, Chris, Kent; and great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Shawn, Katelyn, Courtney, Joseph, Emma, Kory, Keith, Brooke, Derek. Visiting hours were held in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte. 53, in Hanover, Sunday, March 2, from 12-2 followed by a service in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
