Alice C. HarringtonAlice Corinne Richeson Harrington, age 97, passed peacefully on March 7, 2014. She is predeceased by her husband, Mayne Harrington, son, Allan Harrington, and grandson, Eric Nichols. She is survived by daughter, Alice Nichols, King of Prussia, Pa.; son, Harlan and wife, Maria Harrington, Rio Rancho, N.M., and their children, Stefani and Jordan. She is also survived by Allan's wife, Sylvia, and children, Monica, Paul, and Camille, San Diego, Calif. Alice Harrington was the last surviving child of Charles and Alice Richeson, Newburg, Ala. Her brothers and sisters were William, Charles, Carolyn, Robert, and Doris.She attended Florence teachers college (now UNA) thanks to the generosity of her Aunt Mary Hudson and taught for a short time in Red Bay and Town Creek, Ala. During World War II she met and married her husband. After the war, they attended graduate school in Washington D.C. and eventually moved to California where their children were born. Alice Harrington taught in the San Diego school system for over 30 years. After the death of her husband. she decided to move back to Florence, Ala. She shall be honored and remembered Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, 1950 Helton Dr., Florence Ala.
