->Burke, AliceAlice Burke of Valley Cottage passed away peacefully at home in the loving arms of her husband, Bill, surrounded by her family on May 21, 2013. She was 81. Alice was born in the Bronx and was a resident of Valley Cottage for over 50 years. Alice worked in the Nyack School System as a teacher's assistant. Years later Alice worked as a bookkeeper at St. Dominic's Home in Blauvelt. Alice's passion was her family. She was married to Bill, the true love of her life, for 61 years. Alice is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Deborah Quinn. She and Deb are together now and smiling down on us to give us strength. Alice is survived by her deeply loved sons, Bill Burke and his wife Theresa, Jim Burke and his wife Tricia and Anthony Burke and her beloved daughters, Mary Burke and Elizabeth Burke-McNutt and her husband Peter. Alice is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren, Catherine, Tommy, Jim and his wife Megan, Will and his fiancée Candace, Meghan and Patrick. Alice lived life to its fullest. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Visiting will be at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City on Thursday 7-9pm and Friday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11am in St Paul's Church in Congers followed by burial at Gethsemane Cemetery.Michael J.
