MONCION, Alice (Benard) - Alice (Benard) Moncion passed away on February 15, 2009 at the age of 91, wife of the late Leo Moncion (1985). Beloved mother of Robert and Arlene Moncion of Tiverton, Huguette and Marcel Lajoie of Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Claude (Cindy) Lajoie, Michele Lajoie, Lisa (Lou) Hammill, Richard (Caroline) Lajoie, Suzette (Sante) De Donato, Ken (Debbie) Moncion, Kathy (Ken) MacDonald, Tom Moncion, and Brenda Moncion. Survived by many great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews as well as brothers Leo Benard of Hanmer, Arthur and Ninette Benard of Welland and sisters Patricia Boyle of Arthur, Anne and Gino Benvenuto of St. Catherines, Simone and George Jasmin of Timmins, Jackie and Norman Eckert of Timmins, Georgette and Florian Tremblay of Hanmer. Predeceased by sisters Marie Benard, Irene (Couture) LaJambe and brother Paul Benard, as well as a great-grandchild Andrew. Alice was a teacher with the Lambton County Separate School Board for over 35 years and was a member of (Femmes D'Auxilliares) and Club D'Age Dr of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. and evening from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 895 Champlain, Sarnia with Father Terence. Runstedler officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
