Alice A. Burke Middleboro Alice A. (Allison) Burke, of Middleboro, died Dec. 15, at her home after a short illness under the care of her family and hospice. She was 81. Born in Middleboro, a daughter of the late William and Mattie (Murdock), she was raised in Bridgewater and was a graduate of Bridgewater High School. She worked for many years as printing supervisor at Baystate Specialty of Lakeville. She enjoyed reading, traveling and her beloved cat, Simba. She was the wife of the late Raymond D.; mother of Marilyn Guthrie and Gayle Parker of Middleboro, Nancy Lech of Virginia, Dennis Burke of West Wareham, and Janet Smith and Robert Burke, both of Wisconsin; sister of the late Faith Atkinson, Leah Hemenway, Mary Jackson, William Allison, Virginia Oswiecki, Edwin Allison and Mattie Walsh. Also survived by 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Titicut Cemetery, Middleboro.
