Pembroke Mr. Alfred "P.W." Price-Williams, age 64 died at his home on Tuesday, July 21, after an extended illness. Mr. Price-Williams was a long-time resident of Springfield before moving to Pembroke. He was a Navy veteran and a 37 year utility mechanic with Union Camp having retired as employee of Arizona Chemical. Mr. Price-Williams enjoyed computers, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Catfish and was instrumental in clearing the canoe trails in the Okeefenochee Swamp. He was preceded in death by parents Alfred Price-Williams, Sr. and Gladys Hodges and his brother Butch Price-Williams. Survivors include his wife of over 30 years Wanda Price-Williams of Pembroke; two sons and a daughter-in-law Vernon Price-Williams of Columbia, S.C. and Joseph and Tracy Price-Williams of Newington; daughter and son-in-law Christine and Glenn Kirkland of Guyton; a stepdaughter and her husband Stephanie and James Edenfield of Erwin, Tenn.; sister and brother-in-law Patsy and Jim Addington of N.C.; three grandsons Steven Tipton of Erwin, Tenn., Tyler Price-Williams of Newington and Wyman Trowell of Clyo; and five granddaughters Shaye McKinney of Erwin, Tenn., Logan Stuffel of Md., Brianna Price-Williams of Newington, Ashley Price-Williams of Pineora, and Cary Ann Zeigler of Ebenezer. Funeral service was held 7 p.m. Thurday evening in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Elder Daniel Strickland officiating.
