Alfred J. Lavoie April 28, 1940 - February 4, 2010 Norwich - Alfred J. Lavoie, 69, husband of Lorraine (Forand) Lavoie, of Newton St., died Thursday evening at home. Born in Coventry, RI, on April 28, 1940, he was the son of the late Emile and Blanche (Ducharme) Lavoie. Prior to his retirement in 1986 he was employed at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division. On January 21, 1989 in Rhode Island he was united in marriage to Lorraine (Forand) Lavoie. Mr. Lavoie was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict. Surviving is his wife, four sons Kevin Lavoie of RI, and Armand Forand, Louis Forand and Robert Forand all of Norwich, three daughters Michelle Horne of FL, Sharon Riccio of Taftville, and Brenda Thibodeau and her husband Allen of Norwich; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Lorraine Forand, a brother Gerard Lavoie, and a sister Emilda LaBarre. Visitation Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Church at 10:30a.m. Interment will take place on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the First Hopkinton Cemetery, Chase Hill Rd., Ashaway, RI.
