Alfred H. Lavoie, 62, of Fall River, passed away Saturday after a brief illness. He was the husband of Eduarda (Caieiro) Lavoie, formerly China. Born in Fall River, son of the late Gerard and Alice (Lizotte) Lavoie, he was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1968. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army and Reserves for 36 years, retiring from the 249th EN BN, Delta Co. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling and stock car racing. Al never met a stranger, he was loved by everyone who knew him. He was the beloved father of Christopher (wife Jennifer), Maryjo and Alfred J. Lavoie, Jason, Brian (wife Tiona) and Amanda China; brother of Leo Lavoie (wife Dorothy), Bernadette Johnson, Madeline Mitchell (husband John) and Alice Wise (husband Robert). He also leaves five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. at the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St., Fall River.
