Obituary of Alfred-Graham Roy


ROY, Alfred Graham "Alfie"-78, Liverpool, died Thursday, October 9, 2003, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ralph and Gertrude (Christian) Roy. He was veteran of the Second World War serving in the army. He served in the merchant marine until his discharge on April 8, 1946. He worked at Bowater Mersey Pulp and Paper in the paper making department for 45 years until retirement. He also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. He is survived by his wife, Annie Dagley; daughter, Pam (Reginald) Miller, Liverpool; sons, Michael (Sandra), Milton; Lance (Karen), Liverpool; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrna LeBlanc, Liverpool, Betty Steele, Kentville; brothers, Cyril (Barbara), Liverpool. He was predeceased by infant son, Ralph; brothers, Churchill, Frank, Donald, Jack, and Eldon. Visitation will be Sunday, October 12, from 7-9 p.m. in Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. Legion service will be Sunday, October 12, at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 14, at 11 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool, Canon Ken Vaughan officiating. Burial at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or Trinity Anglican Church.
