Alexandre "Alex" Ouellette died suddenly on Good Friday March 21, 2008, at Sudbury Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was 79. He was born in Cobalt March 11, 1929, to the late Willie and Eugénie Ouellette. He was a lifelong resident of Cobalt and had worked as an air track driller for Pitts Pipeline. He was a member of the former Ste-Thérèse Parish and a Third Degree Knight with Council #1398 of the Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Willie, Royal, Gabrielle, Germaine, Jeannine and Dorothé. He is survived by his loving wife Jeanne, whom he married November 4, 1958. He is also survived by children Diane (Gerry) Gagnon of Ottawa, Marcelle (Jean-Guy) Pinet of Cobalt, Marie Girard of Ville-Marie, Alex Jr. (Denise) of Cobalt, Michel of New Brunswick and Gérard (Jacqueline) of Cobalt. He also leaves 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings Fernande Stoughton, Elinda Allard, Claire Ouellette (Jack Howe) and Blanche Bernatchez, and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, there was no visitation. A memorial service commemorating his life will be held at a later date.
