ORD, Alexander (Alex) Harbinson Alex Ord of Victoria passed away peacefully at the Lodge at Broadmead on May 15, 2007. Born June 21st, 1920 to Edward and Christina Ord of Victoria, Alex leaves behind his beloved wife, Audrey, three children Pat (Bill), Tina (Eric) and Graham (Anna). Alex was a cherished husband, father, brother and uncle and true to all of his friends, especially Ernie Durrant. He taught us to find pleasure in the beauty of life. Music, travelling and Hornby Island were his passions. Grandchildren Brian, Kara, Kristin, Natalie, Ian and Gabriel have fond memories of their grandpa (Oompa) and Bela and Noah will be told many stories about him. Alex is predeceased by his parents and his older sister, Isabelle Bishop. Much love to his sister Margaret Hall (Alan) and to his brother James Ord (Heather) for their loving support. Alex was in the RCOC during WWII, one of the officers who was loaned to Britain to serve in the RAOC. He was stationed in Rome until the end of the war. Upon his return to British Columbia, he attended UBC to become a certified teacher and he taught Mathematics in Vancouver for almost 30 years. Alex and Audrey raised their family in West Vancouver and retired on Hornby Island where they built a beautiful home. Living on Hornby Island brought new friends and community involvement for both of them. Alex's loving sweetness touched the hearts of all who knew him. We give our thanks to all the wonderful people who cared for him these last few years at both Sunset Lodge and the Lodge at Broadmead. There will be a memorial at First Memorial Services at 4275 Falaise Dr. in Victoria on Friday, May 18 at 2:00. There will be a second memorial at the Lodge at Broadmead on 4579 Chatterton Way, Victoria at 1:30 on Friday, June 1st for the residents of the Lodge who passed away in May. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Lodge at Broadmead. 369733
