Obituary of Aleen-S. Brown


Aleen Smith Brown, 81, of 211 Pelzer Highway, widow of Lewis C. Brown, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at Easley Nursing Center. Born in Anderson County, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late John David and Leila Jane Morgan Smith. She graduated from Easley High School and Draughon's Business College, worked for Lanier Manufacturing and retired from Piedmont Industries. She was a member of Corinth No. 1 Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Laura Jo Brown of Easley; two brothers, E.B. Smith and his wife, Frances, and Ballard Smith, and his wife, Frances, all of Easley. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brown was predeceased by one brother, Hoyt Smith, and two sisters, Grace Smith Trotter and Mary Smith Henderson. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, conducted by the Rev. Chris Aiken and the Rev. Tony Kobukowski. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The Escort of Honor will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the Friendly Neighbors Senior Adult Group from Corinth No. 1. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, where the family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1162, Pickens, SC 29671. The family is at the home of a brother and sister-in-law, Ballard and Frances Smith, 100 Neal St., Easley, SC 29642.
