King, Albert L. "Captain" Gates: October 29, 2008, at age 74, after a courageous battle with Mesothlioma. Predeceased by his parents, Harry & Kittie (Prince) King; foster parents, Charles & Cora VonDeben; brother Sidney; sister Lillian & mother & father-in-law Irene & Fred Brown. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years Diane; sons Daniel (Debbi) & Donald (Bonnie); special nephew & nieces Michael, Annemarie & Jennifer Brown; nieces Carla, Cathy, Vikki, Colleen, Kim, Jennifer & Carol of Des Moines; brothers and sisters-in-law Ellen & Gerry Bishop, Sue (deceased) & Jose Rivera, Mike & Barb Brown, Dennis (deceased) & Cathy Brown, Chris & Ron Sumption, Steven & Eileen Brown and many dear cousins and friends. Al was a resident of Gates for over 50 years, a Kodak employee for 34 years and a First Student bus driver for many years. Per his request, there will be no calling hours.
