Albert J. (Jack) Gibson WEST HURLEY- Albert J. (Jack) Gibson, 88, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Golden Hill Health Care Center in Kingston. Born Jan. 12, 1924 in Kingston, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Emma Van Valkenburgh Gibson and had resided in West Hurley for many years. Mr. Gibson was employed in Purchasing at Rotron in Woodstock for 32 years, before his retirement. He served as an officer in the Woodstock PTA and was a former member of Kingston Lodge #10, F&AM. He served in the U.S. Army 7th General Hospital from 1942 until 1945. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean Hartfuer Gibson, March 2, 2005, a son Robert T. Gibson and his sister, Elizabeth Zeeh. Surviving are his daughter. Cindy Gibson Hancock of West Hurley, three sons, David of Utah, Jamie of Wyoming and A.J. Gibson of Georgia; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday Noon to 1 p.m. at Lasher Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Tinker St., Woodstock, followed by a service at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Hurley Fire Department.
