Obituary of Albert-Edward Gibson


Albert Gibson, 85 Albert Edward Gibson, of Prescott, died at his residence on March 30, 2006 at the age of 85. He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Dec. 18, 1920 to parents William George Gibson and Maud Eva Williams. He married his second wife, Thelma Gibson nee Crook (Stefura). Mr. Gibson served in the Second World War (WAG 319 Squadron, Lancaster). He was a wireless radio operator and was involved in commercial shipping prior to moving to Ontario, where he was an installer for 17 years at Automatic Electric in Brockville. His interests included golf, gardening, woodworking and his family. He is survived by his wife Thelma, his children Shauna (Gary Faber) of Johnstown, Donald (Theresa) of Maitland, step-children Penny Stefura of Kingston and Jenny Stefura of Inverary, grandchildren Stefanie, Lisa and Emily Faber and Megan and Christina Gibson, step-grandchildren Alyssa, Alec and Dylan, his brother Kenneth (Susan) of North Augusta and sister-in-law Dorothy (Morris Hobbelink) of Calgary. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Mildred and two brothers and two sisters. At Mr. Gibson's request, there was no visitation or service. Cremation took place at Hope Cemetery and Crematorium on March 31. Donations were directed to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
