Alan W. Anderson, 46CASCO - Alan W. Anderson, 46, of Casco died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005 after living with brain cancer during the past five years.Alan was born in Portland on October 14th, 1958, the son of Alan L. and M. Catherine Anderson of Ray Street. He attended Cheverus High School and was a graduate of the University of Southern Maine. Alan was employed by J.E. Goold Co. for many years, and later established Jack Pine Media to offer his services as a marketing consultant and graphic designer. Al was a loving husband and a proud father who most enjoyed being in the company of his immediate family. He was a private man who will surely be remembered by those who knew him as one who was quick to find humor in life, and who made others laugh.Some of Alan's favorite pastimes included carpentry projects, painting, writing, playing the guitar, and enjoying live music concerts with his wife.He was always very close to the natural world, being grateful for the peaceful environment of his lakeside home in Casco. Alan is survived by his wife of 25 years, Julie (Remington) Anderson; a daughter, Ryun of Yarmouth and her daughter, Natalie; and a son, Asher, who attends St. Michael's College in Vermont. Also surviving are Alan's mother, M. Catherine (Goff) Anderson of Portland. Al cherished his four sisters, Jane Gallant of Portland, Karen Pike of Dayton, Joanne Nelson of Portland, and Lynda Penny of Yarmouth, and their husbands and children. He was predeceased by his father, Alan L. Anderson.A funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Gray at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be private. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Rd., Gray. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be considered to the American Cancer Society, or to a charity-based organization of choice that serves the needy.
