Al Hall Mr. Al Hall, 71, of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, at his home. He had been a resident of Tallahassee for 23 years, moving here from Kingston, Jamaica, in 1985. He worked for the City of Tallahassee as an electrical engineer in the Power Engineering Department from 1985 until his death.In Jamaica, Mr. Hall worked with the Jamaica Public Service Company as an electrical engineer from 1960 to 1984, and as director of the Scientific Research Council in the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment from 1984 to 1985. Mr. Hall was a member of the Thomasville Road Baptist Church where he was a deacon and very involved with the music ministry.He was also involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship of Florida Big Bend Chapter where he was board chairman in 2007 and with the Tallahassee Scientific Society which he founded in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Grace, of 44 years; son, Andrew (and wife Ashley) of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Christine Elizabeth of Philadelphia, Pa.; four grandchildren, Andrew Hall Jr., Ky-mani Grace Hall, Zion Nasir Hall and Alexander Gregory Hall; three brothers, James Hall, Anthony Hall, Franklin Hall (and wife Jeannette) of Kingston, Jamaica; one sister, Betty Lough (and husband Franklin) of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents James and Clarice Hall. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Thomasville Road Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Abbey-Riposta Funeral Home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 9. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted on behalf of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Florida Inc., Big Bend Chapter, PO Box 5893, Tallahassee, FL 32314, and/or Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308-5428.
