<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">LAND O'LAKES, Fla. -- Agnes Stella (Glance) Krol, 88, died Feb. 17, 2009. She was born in Manchester, N.H., on April 22, 1920, to Helen (Mammel) and Stanley Glance. Mrs. Krol was a U.S. Army WAC veteran of World War II, and traveled the world during that time, and later with her husband and family. She made Manchester her home base until 1987, when she moved to Spring Hill. At the time of her death, she was residing at Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home. In November 2007, she was a U.S. Library of Congress Veteran Inductee. Along with her interview, she brought her gift of song with "America the Beautiful" for all America to hear. She was a cook by trade, a talent which she used very well, whether cooking for the troops or her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Krol, in 1987. Family members include three children, Patricia Boorom of Tamarac, Joseph Krol Jr. of Largo, and Cynthia George of Port Richey; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. IN HER LIFE: While serving in the WAC during World War II, Cpl. Glance was known as "The Velvet Voice," singing weekly for the troops on the Atlantic Overseas Air Service Commands Station WAAT. She carried her singing throughout her life and whenever she was asked to "belt one out," she would respond. She was a bright, cheerful person, well liked by everyone she met. SERVICES: She will be buried in Florida Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, alongside her husband.
