DONOVAN Agnes M. Gleason Donovan R.N., age 95, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late David F. Donovan, died Saturday, November 19, 2005, at her home. Born in Winsted, she was a Bridgeport resident most of her life. Mrs. Donovan was a World War II veteran, serving as a nurse with the U.S. Air Force. She was a graduate of Columbia University and received her nursing degree from the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Donovan was a member of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, Friends of the Southbury Training School, a founder of the Head Start Program and a volunteer with the Barnum Festival Society, Assumption September Fest and the Stable at St. Augustine Cathedral. Survivors include her beloved daughters, Mary-Katherine (Kathy) Almeida and her husband, Joseph, of Bridgeport and Margaret Donovan of Southbury; a brother, Robert Gleason and his wife, Dorothy, of Bridgeport; two grandsons, David and Alex Almeida; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. direct to Our Lady of Assumption Church, Fairfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions through the funeral home for a scholarship fund to be created in her memory at Our Lady of Assumption School.
