->STARKS -- Agnes "Aggie" Elizabeth Adams, 89, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Woodlawn Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Skowhegan. She was born June 4, 1920, in Livermore, a daughter of the late William and Nellie (Dawes) Carter.Aggie was educated in Anson and Madison and graduated from Madison High School in 1940. In 1941 she married Stanley Adams and they made their home in Starks. She worked in area shops and mills until 1956 when she started working at J.J. Newberry in Farmington where she stayed until they closed in the mid-'90s. Patrons in town fondly knew her as "Mrs. Newberry." In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, having been a league bowler at the Meadow Lanes in Farmington for more than 30 years. She also enjoyed her many family get-togethers at the "camp" she and Stan had on Ironbound Pond in Solon. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Stanley Adams; a baby brother, Lawrence; two sisters, Mildred "Micky" Adams and Dorothy "Dot" Soule; and a nephew, David Adams.She is survived, and will be greatly missed by, a sister, Leona "Nonnie" Quimby of Norridgewock; several cousins; and several nieces and nephews, many of who thought of her as a second mother. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison with Pastor Timothy Haynes officiating. Following the service family and friends are invited to gather at the home of Kirk and Debbie Heald. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make a memorial contribution in Aggie's name to a charity of their choice. Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison is in charge of arrangements. 6904982
