ANDERSON, Agnes Elizabeth (Proudfoot)Agnes died peacefully on January 2, 2013 in Victoria, BC. Born in Ayr, Scotland on July 21, 1922, Agnes came to Canada with her family when she was eight years old, living most of her life in Victoria. She received her early education here and graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1943, after attending classes at Craigdarroch Castle where she met her husband, Jack. They were married in 1945 and their life together was filled with friends and family as they raised their sons. Agnes enjoyed being a homemaker. She was known to be an excellent seamstress, an avid gardener and a lover of classical music. She enjoyed entertaining and developed many lasting friendships throughout the years. Family time at the cottage at Shawnigan Lake was one of her greatest pleasures. Agnes spent a long time searching for the perfect property and the cottage they built continues to be enjoyed by family members today. Agnes was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Jack Anderson and her son John, as well as her parents, Daniel and Elizabeth Proudfoot and her siblings Maeve and Jim. She is survived by her son, David (Janis), daughter-in-law Barbara, grandchildren Tina (Dick) Horwood, Bryan (Amie) and Tricia (Lee) Barlow and seven great-grandchildren Nicola, Patricia, Christopher and Jonathan Horwood, Edward and Amaya Anderson and Winston Barlow. She will also be lovingly remembered by her friend Vera Dyar and her friend and caregiver Maivis Olsen.A funeral service will be held at McCall's Downtown (Vancouver & Johnson Streets), on Tuesday January 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow in the McCall's Family Centre. Condolences may be offered at www.mccallbros.com.
