Ada Marie Nelson, born December 25, 1921, in Sedalia, Missouri, died in her home May 23, 2007. She was 85 years old. Ada was a loving mother and wife. Her kindness and love were freely given to everyone she knew. She spent most of her life in Missouri with the exception of a few years in Kansas and Colorado. Mrs. Nelson worked as a waitress at the Gilbert Restaurant in the Kansas City Airport during the 1960s and 70s. During that time she was recognized as Employee of the Year by the Missouri Restaurant Association. She was active in the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron of the Versailles, Missouri, chapter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Owen. She leaves behind her three sons, Anthony, Robert, and Gary; her sister, Fay Anderson; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John's Hospice Care would be appreciated. Private family services will be held at a later date.
