Ada Bell Davis MONTICELLO - Ada Bell Davis, 88, the retired owner of Lamont Mercantile Country Store , died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at Lamont Baptist Church in Lamont, with burial at Walker Cemetery in Madison County. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. Beggs Funeral Home Monticello Chapel (997-5612) is handling arrangements. She was born in Madison County and had lived in Jefferson County for more than 60 years. She was a former clerk for the Jefferson County CETA office and was a member of the Lamont Baptist Church, where she served as the church clerk for 40 years and was a Women's Missionary Union member.She is survived by two sons, Virgil Davis (and wife Eileen) and Glenn Davis (and wife Patricia), both of Lamont; a brother, Ralph Andrews of Davie; a sister, Lois Reams of Oviedo; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, V.J. Davis, and a son, Donald Davis.
