BERRY, Ada LouieApril 14, 1923 ~ January 2, 2014Our dearly loved Mum, Ada Berry (McLaren) passed away January 2, 2014 at the age of 90. Ada was predeceased by her husband Don, to whom she was happily married for 64 years. Mum will be missed by her six children: Frank (Pat), Brenda Paterson (Ross), Ken (Susan), Trevor (Cindy), Joan Pedersen (Ken) and Allan (Evelyn). Ada was a wonderful Granny to 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Born in Montrose, Scotland to W.D. McLaren and Eliza Louisa McLaren (Benzies). Predeceased by her parents and brothers, Arthur and Jim McLaren. Ada attended the Vancouver School of Art, graduated from UBC in Biology, and loved to cook and entertain. She cherished the beach and ocean and was mesmerized by its ever-changing beauty. Her greatest pride was her family. She loved to swim, sunbathe, play bridge and socialize with many great friends at the family campsite at Mission Point. Ada always had a good word to say about everyone and she approached everything with colour and artistic flare. The dining room table was never seen without a bouquet of fresh garden flowers and her meals were always tasty and attractively presented. In her spare time, Ada had a passion for knitting and donated over 2,400 baby toques for newborns at St. Mary's Hospital. She was very blessed to have wonderful neighbours and many good life-long friends. We thank the Vancouver Coastal Health for their wonderful homecare in her later years.
