Annie-Jessie Williams, born in 1916, died on July 19, 2012. Please consult the obituary here:
ANNIE JESSIE (MacKAY) WILLIAMS March 28, 1916 - July 19, 2012 Remembering my mother:A year has come and gone now, since we had to say goodbye. So many memories of my mom and myself, bring me back to the shore of the Bras d'Or Lake in St. Georges Channel. When she was a child, she often told me, she was her happiest at the shore, swimming and playing with her brothers and sisters, loving this little piece of paradise, as she called it.I recall my own summers at the beach, with her teaching me to swim, and me yelling continuously "don't let me go!"; walking to Big Uncle Hectors beach; collecting heart shaped stones and shells to take back to the cottage to later paint and sign the date and our family's initials. Then as a young mother myself, we spent endless days at the beach, now with my children, Marcy and Jake; again teaching them to swim, watching and clapping as they shouted "watch me, mom," "watch me, nana".Many years later, we found ourselves again at the shore, sitting side by side on the beach bench (built for mom by my uncle Alec), both of us holding a precious child, Cameron and Morgan, mom's great granddaughters. Over the tops of their heads, our eyes would often meet, ours eyes full of love for them and for each other, full of remembering all of the wonderful years we had sat together, here on her little piece of paradise, this magical place.I am so proud to be the daughter of this great lady, Annie Jessie (MacKay) Williams, my mother, my mom. With endless love and admiration your daughter, Donna. To my Bama:I still miss you so much. I have never missed anyone as much as I miss you. You were one of the best people who has ever gone through life, the challenges, sights, experiences and all. I will always remember you for the great person and bama you were and still are. I love you and miss you so much.Your great granddaughter, Cameron Hunt (10 years old).Dear BamaI will always remember the great things you did and how you always would hide the chocolates under the sofa. When we came in the door you always had a great big smile on your face and I always remember what you said about trying to be good. I miss you so much. Life is sometimes tough without you. Love, your great-granddaughter, \Morgan Hunt (8 years old).
