Anne Dawson Butler died at her home in Lake Como, Friday morning, September 2, 2011 following a brief illness. Born in Hoboken, New Jersey, she received her Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Patterson State College in Wayne, New Jersey and Master's Degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Anne taught school for ten years in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. After returning to the States, she traveled around and happened to stop in Lake Como and bought the Hide A Way Bar and Grill which she has operated for the past thirty one years. She was a life member of A.B.A.T.E., a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She also belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary, F. O. E. #4355. She leaves behind her beloved dog, "Buddy". She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Mary Dawson and brothers, Peter and Brian Dawson. She is survived by: Husband of 23 years, Byron Butler, Lake Como; sisters: Mary (Ron) DeSimone, Daytona Beach, Jane (Alfie) Schur, DeLand, Terry Dawson, DeLand; brother, Michael (Nancy) Dawson, St. Croix, Virgin Islands; step daughter, Cathy Butler Johnson, Pierson; step sons: Michael Butler, Decatur, Alabama, Geoffrey Butler, Decatur, Alabama; two step grandchildren; many nieces & nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday evening, September 5, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Biggs Memorial Chapel with Reverend Howard Cox officiating. Interment will follow services in St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
