ALLAN LEO MACK 1931 - 2009 FERRISBURG - Allan Leo Mack, 78, passed away on Oct. 1, 2009, following a brief illness. He was born on Jan. 28, 1931, in Charlotte, the son of George and Della (Bourdeau) Mack. Allan graduated from Vergennes High School in 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 19501954. Following honorable discharge from the Air Force, Allan attended Albany Business College from 1954-1955. Allan joined Foote's Insurance in Vergennes in 1955 as an insurance agent where he became a part owner and retired in 1999. A lifelong resident of Vergennes and Ferrisburg, Vt., Allan enjoyed spending his winters in Daytona Beach, Fla. the past several years. Allan is survived by his sisters, Barbara (Charles) Spoon and Phyllis (George) Marsceill; and sister-in-law Grace Mack. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother George Clifford Mack; and sisters, Katherine Carter and Shirley Mack. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. in St. Peters Catholic Church in Vergennes. Reception to follow at the Mack lake home.
