A resident of Mahwah, NJ entered into eternal rest October 8, 2003 in her home. She was 86. Alice was born August 12, 1917 in Heartville, South Carlina to the late Robert and Elizabeth Sanders. Alice was predeceased by her husband Edward Smith, her son Robert Lee Sanders and her daughter-in-law Beverly Sanders. She is survived by her daughter Annette Slaughter and son-in-law William Jackson of Mahwah, NJ, six grandchildren; Alice Levy of Haverstraw, NY, Cindy Slaughter of Garnerville, NY, Sgt. Major Curtis A. Sanders of Killeen, TX, Justine Hyman of Spring Valley, NY, and Vincent Hyman of Mahwah, NJ,, Jacqueline Sanders of Spring Valley, NY, thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday at Scarr Funeral Home, Inc., Suffern, NY. Services will immediately follow.
