FERGUSON, ALAN W. - age 64, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014. Alan was a beloved husband, father, "Granpa," brother, and friend. He enjoyed a successful career as an engineer with Alstom Power. Alan loved music, hiking in the outdoors, and especially time with his family. He travelled the world with gusto and was also a crackerjack handyman. Alan was a strong and God fearing man who was deeply devoted to his family. He was a graduate of Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. Alan was preceded in death by his father, Donald Murray Ferguson. He was deeply loved by and is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shar Ferguson; children, Heather Ferguson and Ian Ferguson; "pearfect" granddaughter, Ahava Greenhood; mother, Erleen Ferguson; siblings and spouses, Chuck and Peggy Ferguson, John and Debbi Ferguson, Barbara and Chuck Klemme, Mary Ferguson and partner, Marie Cawley, and David Ferguson; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. A celebration of life will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, with a visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel.
