August 23, 2004 A. John MacClurg III, 72, of 4799 Lariat Lane, Marcellus, died Monday peacefully at home. A graduate of Middlebury College, Mr. MacClurg was retired from building and the insurance business. He was active in and enjoyed coaching chil- dren's sports including Little League, Pop Warner, youth hockey, and tennis. Mr. MacClurg was an Air Force veteran serving as a jet pilot. He also loved boating. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Suzanne Darling; four children, Christi of Marcellus, Bill (Kim) of Cary, NC, Bob of Marcellus, and Jennifer of Marcellus; his mother, Ellen MacClurg of Marcellus; a sister, Joan (Bill) Pryce of Alexandria, VA; two grandchildren, Madeline MacClurg and Bryce MacClurg. A funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus.
