->Davis, A. JeanDavis, A. Jean, left this world on November 9, 2012 at age 88. Jean is survived by her devoted and loving children, Lynne Davis-DiPaolo and Charles E. Davis, their respective spouses, Salvatore DiPaolo and Barbara Palomo-Davis, her grandchildren, Terri, Paul, Natalie, Christina and Samantha, and her great-grandchildren, Lila and Maria. Jean was born December 5, 1923 in Toronto, Canada. She was married to William B. Davis (1918-1993) a World War II veteran. The couple met at a dance and married in 1945, and raised their children together in Eastchester, NY after Bill returned from World War II. Bill and Jean then moved to Venice, Florida in 1978. At Lynne's urging after Bill's passing, Jean returned to New York to live with Lynne and Sal in Scarsdale, NY. Jean was the picture of love and happiness. Always quick to smile, joke and laugh, she had a sharp wit, a great sense of humor, a love of dance and an unmatched vocabulary that made her a formidable Scrabble opponent and an expert at any crossword puzzle. Jean was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2007 and although her struggle with the disease was long, she put up a good fight, never forgetting the faces of her children or the affection she felt for her family and those who cared for her. Visiting will be held on Sunday 2-5 pm at WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 190 Main Street, Eastchester, NY where a prayer service will take place at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Greenwich Woods Nursing Home: Redwood Unit - 1165 King Street Greenwich, CT 06831.
