WILMA JEANSMITH, 71Homemaker LAKELAND - Wilma Jean Smith, 71 of Lakeland, died of heart failure, 10-31-2008, under the care of Good Shepherd Hospice. Jean was born January 7, 1937 in College Mound, TX to Fred and Maggie Yarbrough. In 1954 she married Herbert Leon Smith. Jean was an active homemaker and mother to their 3 children. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Irving. She was also a member of the Jaceyee-ets where she was named Most Outstanding in the State of TX for 1966. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Irving Chapter 777, where she served on the board of advisory for the Rainbow Girls. Jean and her husband Leon moved to Lakeland in 1982 where she worked in retail sales. She was extremely devoted to her children and the raising of her grandchildren. She had a passion for sewing, crocheting and crafting. She was survived by her beloved husband of 54 years Herbert "Leon" Smith of Lakeland; sister JoAnn Yarbrough Maykus and husband Frank of TX, sister-in-law Dorothy Yarbrough of TX; brother-in-law Sammy Smith and his wife Linda of KS; children, Cylinda Smith Sherwood and her husband Dan of Lakeland, Randy Lynn Smith and his wife Jan of TX and Melissa Smith Crager of Georgia; grandchildren: Brian Crager of Bahrain, Randy Lee Smith of TX, Jennifer Marshall Kramer of Lakeland, Brad Crager of GA, Amy Smith of TX, Ashley Marshall Wilson of Plant City, Johnathan Marshall of South Korea and Julia Marshall of Lake Placid; great-grandchildren, Cameron, John, Brooklynn and Jaxon Smith of TX, Kenny & Lexi Kramer of Lakeland, Raley and Chloe Wilson of Plant City and Austin Polley of TX. She also was survived by numerous aunts, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Maggie Yarbrough and her brother Charles Yar-brough. A celebration of life will be held at First United Methodist Church 72 Lake Morton Dr. Lakeland, FL 33801 with Rev Ann Jackson on Thursday, November the 6th, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
