GOODING, Walter F., 96, of Palm Harbor, died July 5, 2007. Walter was born September 25, 1910, in Philadelphia, Pa. He moved to Florida in 1971, following his retirement from Continental Can Co., where he was a production line manager. Walter was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served as a minister for many years. Walter had two brothers, Harry and Charles, both formerly of Tampa, who predeceased him. His survivors include two sons, Walter Jr., of Canandaigua, N.Y., and Richard, of Keswick, Va.; a niece, Shirley Cueto of Tampa; a nephew, Thomas, of Venice, Fla.; and a large extended family, including many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Walter was married to 60 years to Ruth (Preston) Gooding, who predeceased him. In 1991, Walter married Leah Vick, who also predeceased him. A memorial service honoring Walter' s life will be conducted at 11 a.m., August 4, at the Commmunity of Christ Church in Tarpon Springs, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made in Walter' s name to the Community of Christ Church or to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care.
