CARROLLTON, Ky.-Virginia Ann ""Roonie"" Johnson, 76, of Carrollton, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Green Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home 809 Highland Ave., in Carrollton with the Rev. Pat Butcher officiating the service. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. She was born on Dec. 11, 1937, in Owen County, Ky., the daughter of the late John Thomas and Nettie Mae Jones Thomas. She had worked at the former Teledyne Wirz Co. in Carrollton as a line operator. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and had attended the Valley Christian Church in Carrollton. Survivors include her husband, David F. ""Dave"" Johnson of Carrollton, to whom she married on March 9, 1957; a daughter Tammie Crawford of Bedford, Ky.; a son, Jeff Johnson of Carrollton; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marjorie ""City"" Spenneberg, Emma John ""Emmy"" Tingle and Lilly Mae Thomas; five brothers, William ""Bill"" Thomas, Edgar ""Boss"" Thomas, Robert S. ""Heavy"" Thomas, Buddy Gene Thomas and Harry Ryan Thomas. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carroll County Animal Support Group in care of the funeral home.
