Thomas Michael Malone, 49, of New Brunswick, N.J., and Hurley, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in New Brunswick. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, June 13, 2010, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Hwy. 28, Whitehouse, N.J. Born in Orange, N.J., on June 22, 1960, Tom grew up in Bloomfield, N.J. A freelance writer, he loved to read and enjoyed following local sports. Tom was predeceased by his father, Donald. He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Doris Croker of West Orange, N.J., and his cherished mother, Barbara Wanca and her husband, Jim, of Hurley, N.Y. He was the beloved brother of Dawn and her husband, Ben Fortunato, of Tewksbury, N.J. He is also survived by his niece, Caitlin, and nephew, Matthew, whom he adored. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
