Thomas C. (T.C.) Naylor, II of Willet, N.Y. Thomas C. (T.C.) Naylor, II, 78, of Willet, N.Y., and formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at the Cortland Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. T.C. was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 4, 1929, a son of the late Thomas Chester and Maryjane Elizabeth Francisco Naylor. During the Depression, his family moved to the Binghamton area, where his father started the T.C. Naylor Heating Company, which was later operated by T.C. until his retirement and its closing in 1984. As a young man, while owning the heating company, T.C. attended several factory-operated heating schools in Missouri, Michigan, and New York. Although he was too young to serve in WWII, he was extremely proud of the fact that he sent his thoroughbred German Shepherd, Rex, to serve with the U.S. Coast Guard and later with the U.S. Army. T.C. was a member of the Broome County Rabbit Breeders Association and, after moving to Willet several years ago, made several hundred cages for local fanciers as the operator of Thom's Wire Works in Willet for many years. He is survived by four children who live elsewhere in the country. He also leaves behind his close friends and caregivers, Kurtis and Renae Brown, Willet, and Martin and Chyrl Ann Brown, Marathon. Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, N.Y., on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. with Joseph Laudig officiating. Burial will be in Willet Cemetery in the spring of the year.
