<!-- FH = North Brevard Funeral Home --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Thomas Bartholomew Murphy, WWII veteran and proud member of The Greatest Generation, passed away at the age of 93 in Titusville, FL. He was born January 11, 1920 in Cairo, West Virginia. Tom married Elizabeth Bushman August 30, 1941. In 1942, Tom joined the US Army 13th Air Corps and was shipped to the island of Morotai in the South Pacific where he served our country with honor and distinction. Upon returning home from WWII, Tom began a long and distinguished career with Reynolds Metals Company. A series of promotions ultimately led him to Torrance, CA, where he retired as Production Manager in 1983. Tom was truly a compassionate man and father who left a trail of love, patience, giving and self-sacrifice to everyone he encountered in his life time. To the many who truly knew and loved Tom, it seems appropriate to point out that he was "A lifetime non-smoker".Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; his sisters, Vera and Loretta; and his brother, John. Survivors include his daughters, Margaret Murphy-Beal, Mary Lou Murphy, Patti (Walt) McCormick and Susan (Terry) Mitchell; his sons, John (Claire) and Dennis (Ginny); fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.Tom spent his last eight and a half years in Florida, cared for by his daughters Mary Lou and Patti, and the loving respectful staff at Joe's Club North.A Remembrance Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, July 24 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Titusville. Tom will be eternally laid to rest beside his wife in Santa Barbara, CA.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation Inc. designated for Joe's Club North, Titusville.
