TOPSHAM - Theresa Lacasse, 81, of Prospect Street died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. She was born in Topsham on Aug. 20, 1924, a daughter of George and Mathilda Deschenes St. Laurent Sr., and was educated in St. John's School. On Jan 12, 1944, she married George D. Lacasse at St. John the Baptist Church. She worked at Cabot and Verney Mill until its closing in 1955. She then worked for 21 years at Health-Tex in Portland, retiring in 1976. After retiring they returned to Topsham to make their home. She was predeceased by her husband who died May 13, 1998; two sisters, Lauretta and Georgette; and a brother, George St. Laurent Jr. Surviving are a sister, Dolores and her husband Urbain Petrin of Old Orchard Beach; and several nieces and nephews, including her three Godchildren, Joanne Paradis of Topsham, Richard Demers of Dover,N.H., and Rachel Skilling of Yarmouth; and a close friend, Eva Allard of Topsham. Visiting hours will be Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m., Monday at St. John the Baptist Church, Pleasant St., Brunswick. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in the spring.
