Susan H. Parker, 54 WINDHAM -- Susan H. Parker, 54, of Upland Road, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at a Portland hospital following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 6, 1952, in Scranton, Pa., a daughter of Thomas and Barbara Wirth Hill. Susan was educated in the Clark Summit school systems and was a graduate of East Stroudsburg State College. She taught in the Windham, N.H. elementary school and left to raise a family. The family moved to Windham, Maine, and then she began teaching at Arlington and Manchester schools and taught there for 12 years. Susan was married to Peter Parker for 31 years, and on April 19 of this year they renewed their vows. Susan was very dedicated to her profession and the school system and belonged to many professional organizations. Family and work were her two greatest loves, and her enthusiasm for both sparked inspiration in everyone that she knew. She was predeceased by her mother. Besides her husband, Peter, and father, Thomas, she is survived by her daughter, Sandy Parker of Brighton, Mass.; sons, Steven Parker of the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ryan Parker of Windham; and four brothers and four sisters and their families of the Scranton, Pa. area. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. at the North Windham Union Church, United Church of Christ, Rte. 302, Windham. Burial will be private.
