Stephen G. Grant, 56, of Brownington, VT and formerly Bridgeton, NJ died March 22, 2010 at his home following a three month battle with cancer. He was born May 20, 1953 in Wilmington, DE, the son of Robert H. Grant, Sr. and Chrystal Geiter Grant. He is survived by his wife Barbara A. Grant (nee Yahrling), his daughter Corrine E. Grant of Quinton, NJ and his son Michael S. Grant of Montclair, NJ. He is also survived by his father Robert H. Grant, Sr. of Carneys Point, NJ and brothers Harry G. Grant of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert H Grant, Jr. (and wife, Pamela) of Carneys Point, NJ and Richard A. Grant (and wife, Patricia) of Lawrenceville, NJ. His mother predeceased him in 2008. He graduated from Penns Grove High School, Carneys Point, NJ in 1971. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1976. He worked as a pharmacist for Cumberland County, NJ at the Cumberland Manor Nursing Home in Hopewell Township for 18 years followed by employment at various retail pharmacies most recently at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Newport, Vermont. He and his wife enjoyed the quiet companionship of each other. He liked reading, watching the History Channel, collecting antiques, and listening to Prairie Home Companion. He also took pride in his daughter, Corrie’s art work and poetry and his son, Michael’s theatrical performances. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday March 27, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the FREITAG FUNERAL HOME, 137 W. Commerce Street, Bridgeton, NJ with Pastor Jamie Bagley of the Carlls Corner Community Fellowship Church officiating. The interment will take place at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ. Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday March 26, 2010 between 6 and 8 P.M. and again on Saturday between 9:30 and 10:30 A.M. A memorial service will take place at a later date at Brownington Center Church, Brownington, VT. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Stephen’s memory to the charity of one’s own choice.
