Born in Littleton, Warren County, N.C., Shirley and her husband, Jack Reese Martin (deceased) made their home in Hillsborough, N.C. for over 40 years.Mrs. Martin is survived by two children, John Reese Martin II of Lexington, N.C. and Eve Martin Kindley of Weaverville, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Martin and Sierra Noel Kindley.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community's Health Care Chapel.
