COX, Shirley Clare (nee Leslie) After a courageous battle with cancer, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 21, 2003, at the age of 75 years. Daughter of the late Elsie & Archibald Leslie. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Cox (1988). Dear mother of Patricia Taylor, Cedar Beach, and Art Cox and his wife Theresa of Cedar Beach. Although many knew her as granny, she was the proud granny of Ed Arnew & Kim, Ernest Arnew, Clifford Arnew and Michel, Tim Taylor and Melissa, Susan and Scott DeNunzio, Tammie & Gary Grant. She adored her great grandchildren Danny, Jason, Tiffany, Alicia, Mason, Mitchell, Myles, Emma, and Rebecca "Shirley". Also loved by foster children Ed Cox and Kathy Carvelho & their children Kaitlyn, Andrea, Kristopher, Steven, and Kimberley. Loving sister to Norma and husband Ron Johnson of Bayfield, Bella Scott of Bayfield, Grant and wife Denise Stevenson of Essex, and the late Bruce Stevenson (2000). Dear sister-in-law to George and Rita Cox, Elaine Cox & Mary Cox. Shirley was an active member of Lily Rebeccah Lodge, Kingsville for 35 years. She voluntarily donated many hours to humanitarian services programs in the Kingsville and Essex County area. Resting at the C. Stuart Sykes Funeral Home, 91 Division Rd. S., Kingsville, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral Service from the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. George Cox officiating. Interment in Greenhill Cemetery. Lily Rebekah service Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor, Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, or the Kingsville Rebeccah Lodge.
