COX, Shirley Anne (nee Pound)August 11, 1933 - March 30, 2013 Shirley Cox, beloved wife of John Cox of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Shirley was born in Camrose, AB and moved to Dawson Creek, BC when she was eighteen. She met the love of her life, John, in Dawson Creek and they were married August 21, 1954. They also resided in Stettler and Edmonton prior to moving to Calgary 1961. Shirley loved camping, fishing and spending time at their cabin on Kootenay Lake and building their cabin on the Ghost River. Shirley is survived by her loving husband John, five children; James Cox (Linda Aberdeen), Beverley Cox (Rick Torrens), Rob (Dianne) Cox, Kathy Cox (Jim Harasymchuk) and Susan (Greg) Palardy, nine grandchildren; Tyler Cox; Ashley Cox; Megan Cox; Colin Cox; Paul Cox; Ryan Harasymchuk; Shawn Harasymchuk; Stephanie Palardy and Christina Palardy. She was predeceased by an infant son Joseph Cox, her parents Vernon and Hilda (Hough) Pound, brothers Gilbert Pound and Ben Pound, sisters Gail Burns and Midge Hinko. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Shirley Cox, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
