WATERVILLE -- Sandra L. (Saul) Smith, 52, died unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.She was born in Portland on June 18, 1953, a daughter of Ahrend F. and Edith (Gunstone) Saul. Sandy was educated in both the Scarborough and Waterville school systems as well as Kennebec Valley Technical College. Most recently, she was employed at McDonald's Restaurant on Kennedy Memorial Drive. Sandy enjoyed crafts, crocheting, cross stitching, writing poetry and was an avid reader. This holiday season, everyone will miss her unique and creative Christmas bows that decorated every package she gave. She is survived by her son, Christopher Verzoni and his wife, Tanya, of Winslow; two brothers, Allan Saul and his wife, Paula, of Waterville and Fred Saul and his wife, Robin, of Winthrop; a sister, Denise Ward of Norwich, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew. She will be sadly missed by her entire family, special friends and her "team" of co-workers at McDonald's whom she cared for greatly.Family and friends may gather from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Chris and Tanya's home, 41 Smiley Ave., Winslow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sandy's memory to the Waterville Football Boosters Club, c/o Waterville Athletic Department -- 1 Brooklyn Ave., Waterville, ME 04901. Sandy enjoyed countless hours and games at the Waterville football field where she volunteered her time and efforts.
