Funeral service for Ruth Voncile Williams, 70, Parkdale Court, DeLand, who died Friday, May 12, 2006, at her home, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Volusia County Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Reynolds officiating. Entombment will be at DeLand Memorial Gardens. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 15, at Lankford Funeral Homes, 220 E. New York Ave. Mrs. Williams was born in Macon, Ga., and moved to this area in 1971 from Brunswick, Ga. She was a member of the Volusia County Baptist Church, Orange City. She retired from the warrant division of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office after 22 years. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Williams, DeLand; sons, Bobby Williams, Fairmont, N.C., Roger Williams, Jacksonville, Richie Williams, Port Orange, and Ron Williams, DeLand; daughter, Janice Vise, DeLand; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
