Ruby Wade Brown, 71, of 199 Ruby Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003.Born Sept. 6, 1931, in Easley, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of Thomas D. Wade and the late Bertha Allen Wade. She was a graduate of Easley High School and worked at Singer Manufacturing Co. and Jantzen. Mrs. Brown was also a bookkeeper for small business and operated Sleepy Hollow Day Care in Fair Play for many years. While living in Clewiston, Fla., she worked in security for Montura Ranch Estates. Mrs. Brown was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church at Fair Play and of the Eastern Star.Surviving are her father, Thomas D. Wade, of Easley; her husband of 54 years, John Robinson "J.R." Brown, of the home; two sons, J. Keith Brown, and his wife, Elizabeth, and Mattison "Matt" Brown, and his fiancee, Susan Whitten, all of Fair Play; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy B. and Bruce Carter, of Charleston; four brothers, James Wade, Frosty Wade, Roy Wade, and Jerry Wade, all of Easley; a sister, Lila Mae Mauldin, of Easley; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with the Revs. David Blizzard, Dale Rawlings and Lewis Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621; or to Hospice of Charleston, 3870 Leeds Ave., Suite 101, Charleston, SC 29405.The family is at the home of her brother-in-law: Wayne P.
