Avis de décès de Robert-Louis-Fuzzy Cox


COX Robert Louis Fuzzy Cox, 72, passed away on October 12, 2001 after a brief illness. He was born in Eastman, Georgia and had resided in Jacksonville since the age of ten. He was a committed Christian and loved Jesus. A member of First Baptist Church, Bob devoted his time to children ministries. He was currently serving as a first grade Sunday School teacher and a third grade Awana leader. For several years, he also served as an Assistant Director in the Newlywed II Sunday School Department. He was a Cub Scout leader with Pack 101 and a volunteer at Mandarin Christian School. Bob graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended the University of Florida and the University of Georgia. He served in the Army during the Korean War, was later a Captain in the Florida National Guard and also served in the United States Army Reserve. For ten years, he was Director of the Right of Way Division of the Florida State Road Department. He is the former Real Estate Manager for Universal Marion Corporation, Past President and Owner of Cox Realty, Cox Construction, Auction Now and Rickys Restaurant and, most recently, shared ownership in Quality Images. Bob was a Life Scout with Troop 122 and a Shriner of the Morocco Temple, 32nd degree Mason. He was Past President of the Southside Businessmens Club, Beach Boulevard Optimist Club and the American Family Association. He served on the Board of Directors for the Spina Bifida Association and the Board of Governors of the South Council of the Chamber of Commerce. Bob was a charter member of the Bull Snort Forum and held previous membership in the Sales and Marketing Executives Club, Florida Board of Realtors, American Legion Post #129 and was a volunteer with the Police Athletic League. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy, and children, Mary Palmer (Gary), Susan Gober (Guy), Traci Bunch (Michael), Laurie Michael, Linda Davis (Isaac), and Leslie Pecci (Alex); fifteen grandchildren, Melissa and Bryan Palmer; Camren, Redding, Leah, Georgia, Moranel and Guy Ross Gober; Kevan and Headon Bunch; Jennifer, Jonathan and Zac Davis; and Alexander and Taylor Pecci; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday at First Baptist Church in the Ruth Lindsey Auditorium, with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
