Robert Johnson, 81, Ellenton, died Sept. 12, 2002, at home. He was born April 23, 1921, in Gary, Ind., and came to Ellenton in 1996 from Merrillville, Ind. He was the owner and operator of Johnson Transfer and Storage for more than 36 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a life member of U.S. Submarine Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn "Lynn"; daughters Barbara Koski of Osceola, Mo., and Karen McLeod of Tennessee; a son, Charles D. of Berthoud, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. No services are planned. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Mansion Chapel, is in charge.
